Do you have the desire to get in shape? Are you so lazy that you’re tired of being lazy? Here are some tips on how to wake your body up and kick it in to high gear.



Nowadays, most people can easily go throughout an entire day without doing an ounce of exercise from the time they wake up to the time they go to bed. All day long every little thing they need is the at tip of their fingers.



Some people spend all day in the car, at a computer desk, on the couch, playing video games, working, doing homework. They don’t have time to spend hours at the gym.



People don’t even realize how easy they have it. Back in the olden days people had to walk miles to a water well just to get a drink of water. Pioneers walked across states to find a decent place to live. Unfortunately, the convenience of everyday items such as food, water, and transportation has put our country into a state of idleness.



If more people would just realize that they don’t have to go to the extreme in order to get a good workout in each day, and would just take a little time to get their body moving more than usual, they would not believe how much of a different it would make. But some people have fallen so far from the train that it does take serious workout routines and strict diets to recover.




Losing weight is much like smoking in that more often than not it takes a big slap in the face but a doctor to get people to change. They are not convinced by the little things like coughing, illnesses, and excess fat. The signs are there people; don’t wait for a doctor to tell you that you’re unhealthy.



If you have been living in such a way that you are completely inactive day in and day out, you need to have a little pow-wow with yourself and come up with some realistic goals regarding your physical health. Bust out the old pencil and scratch paper and start jotting down some ideas today!



Here are some things you may want to consider as you start making your list: Keep in mind that if it doesn’t sound good in your head, and it doesn’t look appealing to you on paper, it is a lost cause. You will not stick with it and you might as well not even start in the first place.



Think of some things that you can get excited about. There are healthy activities out there that can be fun for everyone.




Things like cleaning up your filthy house or going through the junk closet or junk drawers for half an hour each day are great places to start. This forces you to get off the couch and moving.



How about riding your bike or going for a walk or a jog? Why don’t you ride your bike to work or to church or to the park? Get a dog and walk him every morning and every night. Whatever you do, do it consistently; at least three times a week.



Maybe you are one of those people that like to be around other people that are going through the same thing. You need back up and support. Well, there are classes for people like you. Keep your eye out for activities at gyms and recreational centers.



Or maybe you are like my mother was when I was a child and feel embarrassed working out in front of other people. That is very common and also has a solution. It is called Richard Simmons, folks. There are a million at-home remedies for exercise including pull up bars, treadmills, and push-ups.



It doesn’t matter how you do it, just do it. Don’t get caught up in the web of laziness. Your body needs and cries to stay active.
